Wado Ryu Martial Arts
Japan Karate Institute teaches traditional Wado Ryu Karate. Wado Ryu was founded in 1934 by Shihan Hinori Otsuka and is often considered to be the first true Japanese martial art, Japan Karate Institute teaches this art as it was handed down from Otsuka Shihan to Soke Hirano and Shihan Woodard. Sensei Dale Coker has been training in Wado Ryu karate since 1971. He has taught tens of thousands of students since he began instructing in 1973. As one of the first graduates of the Japan International Karate Center Instructor academy under Shihan Woodard, he has taught throughout the United States as well in Japan and Thailand at international affiliates. Wado Ryu is a comprehensive system which blends karate with traditional Japanese Jujitsu. Our Wado Ryu program will assist everyone whether they are young, old, male or female. Key areas of focus are:

  • Respect
  • Discipline
  • Self Confidence
  • Personal Health

    Kids Karate

Little Ninjas are considered to be any child between the ages of 3 and 5. At this early age they are in their prime for the development of listening and functioning skills. The Little Ninja Program will help preschoolers be the best they can be and use their body and mind to their fullest potential. The Little Ninja curriculum specializes in the complete development of the following eight skills:

  • Focus
  • Memory
  • Teamwork
  • Discipline
  • Control
  • Fitness
  • Balance
  • Coordination
  • In order to thoroughly develop each skill and at the same time make their training fun and motivational, the Little Ninja curriculum specifies one skill per class. The curriculum includes a variety of drills used to teach the skill. These drills are easy to follow and help the ninjas develop each skill with significant improvement throughout the ranks.

Japan Karate Institute After School Karate Program offers the best in after school care. As an alternative to daycare, After School Karate offers a structured and disciplined environment. With Karate classes 4 days a week and Fun Day on Friday, kids learn valuable life skills in a caring professional enviornment, all while having a great time. Some key components of After School Karate include:

  • Free Transportation
  • No Monthly Commitments
  • Kids Night Out Parties
  • Discipline and Structure
  • No Extra Cost for Half-days and Teacher Work Days
  • Only $68 a week, with no hidden costs.

  • Whether your child is looking for a way to spend their afternoon or just needing extra structure in their life, After School Karate is a great way for them to get off of the playground and start doing more with their time.
